In The Broken Record episode of Eerie, Indiana, records played backwards give surprising results- Instead of telling the kid to steal milk vans, the backwards messages actually reveal the complaints of his parents, "why don't you tidy your room?", "why don't you get your hair cut?" etc ( Read more... )

Playing records Backwards ??

Didn't see many original episodes, caught several more on SciFi Channel, but the 'backwards music' made me grin...

The neighbours' Dad insisted on playing his son's new records backwards to check for subliminal messages-- and *sometimes* heard them.

Turned out the lad was humming the words...

People acting like Gravity Falls only started going dark in the second season. Did you watch the last half of the first season? Or the shorts? Bill Cipher was a legit demon -addressed as such in the show, might I add-, why didn’t you draw the line there? (Was it because he’s a cute pyramid? I bet it was.) Who else remembers the tv show Eerie, Indiana?

On a tangent, does anyone remember that episode of Eerie Indiana where the kids dad thinks he's being influenced by satanic messages in music but when he plays the records backwards to hear them it's his own voice berating his son? A great response to the satanic panic
